PLATYPUS COTTAGE On top of a ridge Platypus has views in all directions. It is the perfect spot for 2 persons seeking that little extra in their retreat. The old brick dairy has undergone restoration in 2002. The oddly positioned windows have been left where they were, the dock facility can be used to step out of the bedroom, the exposed beams are the originals from the old dairy.

The living room with its high ceiling has a slow combustion wood fire (timber supplied), TV, VCR and CD player. The cottage is fully insulated for all seasons. A phone allows you to make local calls, to take incoming calls and allows internet access. The large country table was handcrafted from stringy bark milled on the property; tableware is in the Queensland maple sideboard.

French doors lead onto a terrace with an outdoor dining setting. A gas barbecue is provided. A kitchen is finished in oregon timber and has a stainless steel fridge-freezer, Smeg oven and cook top. All items are provided for a short or long stay. An extra luxury is the private cedar lined sauna within the cottage. This is a dry Scandinavian sauna, ideal for relaxing in the late afternoon.

The bedroom overlooks a wide valley of the farm. The queen sized bed has an electric blanket and doona. There are additional oil heaters. The furniture, which is in red box from Mudgee, is locally crafted. An sofa bed in the lounge provides extra accommodation for two. All linen is supplied. The modern bathroom has an electric towel dryer and hairdryer. A Bendix washing-drying machine and ironing facility are also available.
